What this is
The Quiet Fortune is a three-volume series of financial education written in plain language by Edmund Warde, under the banner Wealth for the Rest of Us. It explains how money works — earning it, keeping it, and growing it slowly — for people who were never taught and are tired of being sold to.
It is education, not advice. Nothing here tells you what to buy. The disclaimer explains exactly what that means.
Which volume should I read first?
- You are at the beginning — money feels like a room you were never handed the key to. Read Volume I.
- You are already swimming — a mortgage, a partner who changes the subject, a child, a raise that somehow made things tighter. Read Volume II.
- There is something to protect now — keeping what you built, passing it on, staying steady. Read Volume III.
- You want all of it — the complete trilogy in one edition.
If you would rather read for free first
Learn answers money questions one page at a time, in the same plain language as the books. The glossary defines the vocabulary without assuming you already know it.
