Privacy
The short version: this site collects as little as it can get away with, and sells nothing to anyone.
What is stored in your browser
One thing: if you choose your Amazon store from the dropdown on a book page, that choice is
saved in your browser's local storage so you are not asked again. It is a single value like
co.uk. It never leaves your device, it is not an identifier, and clearing your
browser data removes it.
Country detection
To preselect the right Amazon store, the site asks the server which country your connection appears to come from. This is derived from your IP address by Cloudflare, which serves this site. The answer is used immediately in your browser and is not stored or logged by this site. You can override it at any time with the dropdown.
Analytics
This site does not use advertising trackers, and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If aggregate visitor statistics are used, they will be cookieless and will not identify individuals.
There is no mailing list
This site does not collect email addresses and there is nothing to subscribe to. If you write to hello@edmundwarde.com, your message sits in an inbox like any other email. It is not added to a list, not used for marketing, and not shared with anyone.
Amazon
Buy links take you to Amazon, which is an entirely separate company with its own privacy policy and its own cookies. What happens once you arrive there is governed by their terms, not these.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU, or another region with data protection law, you have the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. For this site that will almost always be a single email address, and the answer is yes.
To ask what is held about you, or to have anything deleted, write to hello@edmundwarde.com. For this site the answer will almost always be "nothing beyond the email you just sent", and the answer to deleting it is yes.
