About me
Edmund Warde is a pen name. I use it openly, and I would rather say so on the first line than have you find out later.
There is a real person writing these books. The name on the cover is not that person's legal name, and that is the only thing about me that is invented. Everything else — the reasoning, the arithmetic, the mistakes I describe — is mine.
Why a pen name
Money is a subject people write about badly, usually because they are selling something or because their name is attached to a firm that needs them to say certain things. Writing under a pen name means I owe nothing to anyone: no employer, no product, no platform. The books can say what I actually think, including the parts that are unflattering.
It also means I am not asking you to trust me because of who I am. I have no degrees, licences, credentials, or awards in finance, and you will not find any claimed anywhere on this site. If someone tells you Edmund Warde is a certified anything, they have invented it. Judge the books by whether the reasoning holds.
What I write
The Quiet Fortune is three volumes of financial education in plain language, under the series banner Wealth for the Rest of Us. It is written for people who were never handed a map — who suspect that money is a room they were never given the key to, and who would like the door opened without being shouted at.
Volume I is for someone at the edge of the water. Volume II is for someone already swimming — the mortgage, the raise that somehow made things tighter, the parent starting to need help. Volume III is about keeping what you have built. There is also an omnibus with all three.
Education, not advice
Nothing I write is financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. I explain how things work so that you can decide for yourself. That distinction matters to me and it is not a legal formality — the full disclaimer is here.
How the books get written
Slowly, and mostly before work. The motif I keep coming back to is written in real time — not in hindsight: I am not describing a fortune I made and then reverse-engineering the lesson. I am writing while it happens, which is less impressive and considerably more useful.
Where to find the work
All four books are on my Amazon author page, and each has its own page here.
I am on Instagram and TikTok as @edmund.warde, where the short version of all this lives and where people actually talk back. There is no newsletter and no mailing list — if you would rather write privately, hello@edmundwarde.com reaches me directly.
